About the artist

My name is Jade, and I am an Aotearoa-based painter, sculptor, and teacher with a passion for creating living monsters to keep you company.

Beginning as a traditional painter, I was always drawn to the "comforting uncanny".
I was originally inspired by the classical masters of most artist training, such as Da Vinci and Caravaggio. I was obsessed with portraying my monsters utilizing a classical style. When I finally got my hands on clay, I realised I could bring these monsters to life.

Today, I create creepy yet comforting pieces designed to be part of everyday life. For those who, like me, find solace in the odd. Whether you are a seasoned collector of the strange or discovering sculpture for the first time, I hope my work speaks to you.

My name is Jade (or Jupiter) and I make bag charms, sculptures, and creatures! I am a qualified art teacher during the day, and a full-time shnooble maker at night. I have found my passion making quality pieces and art for creatives, teachers, and monster lovers. Each creature is handmade with love, and absolutely no two are the same.
